Petrochemical Industry

Annual costs to U.S. oil refineries due to corrosion caused by

improperly adjusted pH value of water:

6.95 billion USD.

NO MORE buffer solutions and NO OCCURRING high costs due to pitting corrosion.

Steel corrosion has its minimized effect between a pH range from 8.5 to 12.7.

Our solution for effective corrosion protection is a polymer, which permanently adjusts the pH of the water to a level of pH 11.3.

This minimizes the effect of corrosion and corrosion-related cost.

Use Case: Cooling Towers

What's the problem?

The water in cooling towers is often calcareous and the pH value fluctuates.

The flow rate in the cooling water circuits of these cooling towers can reach up to 200,000 m3 per hour.

Such large amounts of water combined with a fluctuating pH range between pH 5 and pH 7 lead to high corrosion damage such as pitting on the materials used.

How to solve it?

Attach the NERIOS cartridge to the outlet of the cooling system and adjust the pH value before the water enters the cooling towers to avoid corrosion problems.

Saving Potentials

The main cost driver due to necessary regular replacements is the regular replacement of draining modules.

Let's keep in mind that the average cost per module of a cooling tower is 6,000 USD each.
